After Action Review #Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I always set myself up for goals...long term and short term and can never seem to keep up with them. I have a good amount of stuff to get done on any given day and I just don't always have time to stop and write things down to be able to keep track of myself and where I am. This is where After Action Review comes in.
After Action Review is an interactive self development tool based on a structured after a review process for analyzing yourself. You can easily record you daily, monthly or yearly action reviews. The purpose of the daily After Action Review is to encourage you to take full charge and responsibility for yourself and your self development. The tool is highly interactive and helps you to enforce this discipline within you by sending you a daily reminder to ask yourself these four simple questions:
  1. Today, what did I achieve?
  2. Today, what could I have done better?
  3. Today, what did I learn?
  4. Tomorrow, what am I going to do different?
Such simple questions right?!?! But once you log in and complete them everyday you can start to see where you are a little easier. The site is easy to understand and keep track of your goals. Since I am fairly new to blogging still I have been using the site for kind of a back up and to keep me on track with writing and posting. I have been able to answer the questions, not everyday, but when I am available and think about it, and I can see where I am with them and what I need to maybe do better. I am actually thinking of letting my middle son give the site a shot. He tends to lose focus on things and get off track fairly easily. Even though he is only 12 he needs to learn to keep track of himself and needs to learn about what things he can do better by his own judgement, rather than through others.

Overall: This product is not just for adults or business professionals. I think it would be a great asset to anyone that wants to know where they are and where they want to go in life, in general. Students can easily set it up to keep track of school related issues and extra curricular activities. Stay at home parents can keep track of things that go on day to day, even simple everyday projects like cleaning or craft projects can be added on. Adults and business professionals would obviously be able to keep track of achievements in and out of the work place as well as out of work life goals.

Dashboard is an easy to read, at-a-glance overview of all the reviews completed, achievements, and lessons, shown in a graphical presentation to get a snapshot of your performance.

  1. Setting goals are very good. I like to reflect on my day right before bed and it helps me to sleep.
