St Pete Youth Program #local

The mission of the Saint Petersburg Audubon Society  is to promote and provide environmental education and, through responsible activism, protect, restore and preserve natural ecosystems for both people and wildlife. "
I am always on the lookout for things for the kids to do. There are so many events and programs available through the county and I try to keep up with things that are available. This past week I ended up on the Audubon Society website and I found some things that Ben would be interested in doing. He loves outdoors and he loves animals. He enjoys volunteering and helping out, especially when it comes to outdoor events. I found the Youth Program the society offers, in addition to many educational programs and classes. The SPAS provides educational programs like Audubon Adventures, Shorebird classes, and the Youth Program.

St Pete Youth Program  is held at the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. It is for ages 8-13 and they did start the program on January 18th. Attendees of the meets got to enjoy a presentation by Boyd Hill volunteers to highlight the then upcoming Raptor Festival. They also go to go on a bird walk in the ark and learn how to use and care for binoculars.
