10 Favorite Christmas Movies + a new bonus! #holidaymovies

The holiday season has already begun and with that comes watching family, holiday movies together. The kids and I have movies that we watch every year and we are going to share our top picks with you.

This is by far Emmaleighs favorite movie, all year round! She loves The Grinch and quotes him and lines from the movie often. This year her tiny tree is going to be a Grinchmas tree.
Discover the magic of the Mean One this holiday season! Oscar-winning director Ron Howard and Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer bring Christmas' best-loved grump to life with the help of the irrepressible Jim Carrey as The Grinch. The Grinch is a celebration of the holiday spirit no home should be without! Why is The Grinch (Carrey) such a grouch? No one seems to know, until little Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) takes matters into her own hands and turns both Whoville and The Grinch's world upside down, inside out… and funny side up in her search for the true meaning of Christmas.
I love being able to share my growing up memories with my kids and I love that they can and do watch movies I grew up watching year after year.
Do you remember when...Santa asked Rudolph to guide his sleigh, Frosty
magically came to life on Christmas Eve, and Kris Kringle became Santa Claus?

We all love a good Disney movie. A Christmas Carol is a great holiday movie. The blend of Disney and life lessons is great!
From Walt Disney Pictures comes the magical retelling of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale — Disney’s A Christmas Carol, the high-flying, heartwarming adventure for the whole family, starring Jim Carrey. When three ghosts take penny-pinching Scrooge on an eye-opening journey, he discovers the true meaning of Christmas -- but he must act on it before it’s too late. Complete with spirited bonus features, this exhilarating and touching Disney classic is destined to be part of your holiday tradition, adding sparkle and heart to all your Christmases yet to come.

My grampa loved Ernest movies and this was one of his favorites. I can remember him sitting in his chair watching this with me and my mom every year.
High-flying reindeer! Mischievous elves! Warp-speed sleigh rides! Get set for a magical dose of holiday cheer, zany season's greetings, and spell-binding special effects in this fast-paced, heartwarming comedy hit! When Santa Claus decides to retire and pass on his magic bag of Christmas surprises to a new St. Nick, he enlists the aid of a hilarious assortment of characters, including that lovable know-it-all Ernest P. Worrell (Emmy Award-winning comedian Jim Varney)! Along the way, Santa and Ernest help a cynical teen experience the season's spirit like never before. And that's where the fun -- and magic -- begin! ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS ... one delightful, surprising tale you'll never forget!

A classic movie that is a must see for any holiday lover! I love that it is an older movie yet the things that go on throughout the movie are so relate able.
George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all – and it’s Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn’t been for all of his good deeds over the years. Will Clarence be able to convince George to return to his family and forget suicide?

We love the Muppets! There is really not much more to be said about it just because of the fact that it is a Muppets movie! This movie is full of music and adventure!
Greetings, holiday movie fans and culture lovers, I am the Great Gonzo...or, as I am better known to fans of this classic motion picture -- literary legend Charles Dickens. Ready to laugh, cry, sing, frolic, cavort and enjoy yourself beyond belief!? Well, you're in luck, because this 20th Anniversary Edition of Disney's THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL is guaranteed to put you in a holiday spirit that will stay with you forever -- or at least until your Aunt Ruth starts complaining that nobody is eating the fruitcake she brought...again! Available for the first time ever on Blu-ray with high definition sound and picture, so you can enjoy even more of my blue-ness, not to mention the incredible spectacle of Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Academy Award(R) winner Michael Caine (Best Supporting Actor, 1999, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES) as Scrooge, wonderful songs by Academy Award winner Paul Williams (Best original Song, 1976, "Evergreen," from A STAR IS BORN), and, of course, my pal Rizzo the Rat as...well, Rizzo the Rat. A heartwarming and hilarious holiday classic, told as never before by yours truly! Yule love it! Happy Holidays!

My husband is not a fan of Charlie Brown movies and tries to find other things to do when they come on. I on the other hand grew up with them and the kids have watched them year after year. Simple animation and a simple story line.
The 2008 remastered DVD has two main extras: the similarly themed 1991 special It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown, and a new documentary "A Christmas Miracle: The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas (2008, 16 minutes), with interviews of Lee Mendelson, Bill Melendez, Jeannie Schulz, and others discussing the creation of the special, the adoption of Vince Guaraldi's music, the use of children's voices, and the network's negative reaction to the show. --David Horiuchi

This is Garretts favorite holiday movie. He can easily watch it numerous times and never get tired of it. No matter how many times I have seen it, there is always something I missed before. It's a great movie about believing in Santa! Destined to become a holiday perennial, The Polar Express also heralded a brave new world of all-digital filmmaking. Critics and audiences were divided between those who hailed it as an instant classic that captures the visual splendor and evocative innocence of Chris Van Allsburg's popular children's book, and those who felt that the innovative use of "performance capture"--to accurately translate live performances into all-digital characters--was an eerie and not-quite-lifelike distraction from the story's epic-scale North Pole adventure. In any case it's a benign, kind-hearted celebration of the yuletide spirit, especially for kids who have almost grown out of their need to believe in Santa Claus. Tom Hanks is the nominal "star" who performs five different computer-generated characters, but it's the visuals that steal this show, as director Robert Zemeckis indulges his tireless pursuit of technological innovation. No matter how you respond to the many wonders on display, it's clear that The Polar Express represents a significant milestone in the digital revolution of cinema. If it also fills you with the joy of Christmas (in spite of its Nuremberg-like rally of frantic elves), so much the better. --Jeff Shannon

Usually we know the holiday movie season has started when we here the theme song for Christmas Vacation. It's a definite holiday movie and a full of laughs! Join the Griswolds on the adventures for "the most fun filled Christmas ever."

I think this is one of the girls favorite movies. We all want to believe in something, Susan from the movie, is no different. This is another timeless holiday movie.
Six year old Susan has doubts childhood's most enduring miracle Santa Clause. Her mother told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special department store Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all - something to believe in.

This is the newest addition to our holiday movies. This Hallmark movie came out last month and the kids loved it! We have already purchased snowflakes and snowballs from the movie.
Northpole, the magical home to Santa and Mrs Claus, has grown into a huge city powered by the magic of holiday happiness around the world. Yet as people everywhere get too busy to enjoy festive time together, the city is in trouble. Who can help save the cherished traditions of Christmas? -Written by Hallmark Channel
