Oakdale Christmas Display
Usually on Christmas Eve I get all the kids fed, bathed, and in jammas and we go out and look at Christmas lights. We have done it every year and this year because there was so much stuff going on I didn't really feel to into the spirit but I didn't want to miss a year because my mind was off wandering and stressing everything else.
So in true Christmas Eve spirit the kids got ready and we were out. I was going to go up towards the Largo area but it was already kinda late and according to NORAD, Santa was going to be in the area soon. So we ended up going to the Oakdale Christams Lights Display. The owners, helpers, etc leave flyers all over the area and I probably have picked one up everytime I see one. I have taken the kids there before but it had been a couple years.
The Oakdale Christmas House is amazing. The house is located at 2719 Oakdale St S in St Pete, FL and has been on The Today Show, HGTV, ESPN and CNN. It has also been on the Best Christmas Displays list with ChristmasDisplay.org.
It is a walking yard tour with over 600,000 lights and is about a 1/2 acre lot. Has animated, stuffed and plenty of inflatables. There is also a model train set on the lot. This year (2013) is the 37th year they have done this. It is a free event for all ages.
