Rice Krispie Treat Easter Eggs #Easter

Rice Krispie Treat Easter Eggs

Hidden Surprise Easter Egg Treats
The kids love to make Rice Krispie treats at anytime. They are a bit sticky to make but they are fun! This year we are making some Easter Egg Treats. The recipes we found used M&Ms but we have a TON of jelly beans right now so we are swapping those ingredients. The recipe comes pretty much from a box of Rice Krispie's cereal, it can also be found on Kellogg's.
So here is the recipe we are going with this year.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 5-6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
  • Marshmallows (10oz bag of the large or about 4 1/2 cups of the Miniature)
  • 1/2-1 cup of  surprises! We used Jelly Beans but you can use M&Ms, or miniature/bite sized candy too. For some of them we put in dried cranberries and bananas, and some almonds we had here.
  • Plastic Easter Eggs for molds, we only used about 6 to make the whole batch.
Directions:
  • Wash the plastic eggs out, dry, and spray with non stick coating.
  • Measure out butter and melt over low heat.
  • Add in marshmallows and stir until melted.
  • Pour in Rice Krispies and stir until completed coated.
  • Fill each side of the egg with cereal and make an indent for the candy in one side. Close the eggs and allow to form for a few minutes. Ours took about 3-5 minutes for each.
  • Remove from egg.
  • Allow to cool and set.
  • You can also add frosting to the outside and sprinkles or whatever other creative ideas you can think of, the possibilities are kind of up to the creator!
