Our Week at the Brookside Resort
We roadtripped from St Petersbrug, Fl to Gatlinburg, TN in November 2015.
There is a creek that runs near most of the rooms. A really nice feature. Resort does offer a breakfast, nothing huge but we weren't wanting anything more than cereal and bagels. There is a playground on the property. Decent size and well kept. The pool was not open and available so we did not bother with it nor will it be included in this review.
We stayed for about a week so we really got a feel for the area, the rooms, the service, etc.
The cleaning staff was friendly and not too pushy or too strict on schedules. Obviously they have rooms to clean and in an order that they use, but a couple days we were running a little behind on getting out and adventuring around town and they would let us do whatever we needed to do.
The staff upon checkout was just as friendly and quick. Before we left home I made the reservations so I only needed to show ID upon checking in. When I checked out it took less than 5 minutes also, again they had everything on file and all I had to do was leave the key, get the receipt, and say thank you for the stay!
We chose the perfect time to travel. Being from Florida we don't get to see the leaves change colors and have actual fall-like weather so this was a nice change. The kids had an overall great time and there are enough things for everyone to do in Gatlinburg and surrounding areas.
When making the plans and trying to book a place to stay I was totally unfamiliar with the location and area. I choose Brookside Resort because the pricing was mid-line and it was close to the Ripley's Aquarium which was the main reason we were going up there. I also needed something to accommodate the 6 of us traveling.
The location is perfect! The reason we were in Gatlinburg was to review all of the Ripley's Attractions, so we were able to walk from the Resort to Downtown Gatlinburg everyday.
The employee upon check in was friendly and available. He was able to give me the room key(s) and check in within less than 5 minutes. The lobby area very homey and had a very relaxed resort like feel to it. I found out while we were staying there that the Brookside Resort had recently been on Hotel Impossible. I believe they were filming the week of the 17th and we were there that following weekend. We were not in a newly renovated room but our room was clean and we had no issues with anything. TV worked, lights worked, beds were clean and comfortable, no water leaks or stains in the tubs/sinks. Carpet had wear but that was expected, it wasn't overly worn out. The rooms were big and open. There were 2 beds, nightstand, tv stand, small fridge with a microwave on top, small closet area, and a full dresser. There was a fabric chair in 1 corner on the far side of the beds. The room also had a table and 2 chairs. The bathroom included a full tub/shower. Sink with vanity. Plugs and outlets all worked.

We will definitely choose Brookside Resort again when in Gatlinburg. I was very pleased with the location, the price, and the rooms.
Daytime driving, we were headed for some snowy mountains.
Driving through Downtown Gatlinburg at night.
The parking lot from our room. We were on the 2nd floor and to the back of the room was a private balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. The back offered a view of the creek that runs through the property.
(some of the) Mountains from our room.
We walked everyday from the Resort to Downtown Gatlinburg. The weather was perfect. The location of the Resort was prefect.
The Brookside Resort Bear. He had to have a picture with it, everyday.
