Word of the Year 2016
I am a blogger with Compassion Bloggers and every year they prompt their bloggers to find their word of the year. The one word that they will use all year, the one word that sticks out to them more than anything else, the one word that will sum up their whole year. This has been a tradition for Compassion Bloggers since 2008.
For me, the word abundance has been in my thoughts since the new year began so it is fitting that I go with it.
a·bun·dance
əˈbəndəns/
noun
- a very large quantity of something."the tropical island boasts an abundance of wildlife"
- the quantity or amount of something, e.g., a chemical element or an animal or plant species, present in a particular area, volume, sample, etc."estimates of abundance of harp seals"
- (in solo whist) a bid by which a player undertakes to make nine or more tricks.
This year I am striving for abundance in my life, in the life of my family. I am striving for emotional abundance. I want to be happy, not just eh happy, but completely happy in every decision I make. I don't want to question if I am making the right decisions, I am just going to do and not worry. I want to be completely happy in everything I do, alone or as a family. I want abundance financially. We decided to each do the 52 week money challenge this year. I also have looked into starting college funds for each of the kids and they each have their own savings with a decent balance. I want to have abundance in work, the companies I work with and the work I put out.
Living abundantly does not seem all that hard but the reality is that alot of the world is negative. Unfortunately, there are some negative people in my life that I have to deal with, even from a distance, and that will make this One Word a little more difficult to stick with. Hopefully at the end of the year I will be able to follow up with this post and say I lived the whole year abundantly.
So that is my one word for 2016, what's yours?
How can you live an abundant year?
- Be happy with people in your life.
- Leave grudges alone.
- Be confident in your self worth.
- Find your passion and follow it.
- Learn to listen, to others and to yourself.
- Receive compliments with grace.
- Be grateful!
I think this is a great word choice for the year. I wish you all the best this year :)

ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yeeeessss May abundance over flow in your life, Let me tell you the secret to abundance...Read the story of The two fish and five loaves....What did Jesus do to feed the 5000 not counting women and children...He Thanked His Father in Heaven for the little basket and look what appeared....We forget our power to create abundance...in our lives Yes I love this May abundance abound in every area of your life :)
