Fit Kids Playground #Event

We wandered downtown around Christmas time and found the park they have down there. I had heard about it before then but since it was downtown I figured it would be pretty busy so I have always kinda left it alone. But around Christmas they had a bunch of events and we ended up down there and it really wasn't too bad. With 5 kids usually with me I don't like over crowded places but the park is pretty big and the kids can run and run and run plus the water fountains are great for hot Tampa days. Its right on the river and it has fountains and misters for the kids to run and play in. They have a small playground down there as well. The children's museum is there, which we had never been to until recently, Ill post about that later. Anyways we were there yesterday, April 2nd. There was a little event going on, they have it every 1st Tuesday of the month through August, at Curtis Hixon park. It's called Fit Kids Playground, I think they call it Playin' In The Park, and they get together with other vendors so kids and parents can go out and wander around, get info on programs and events that are going on to keep kids active and the kids get to play and be active. We got there a little early because I wanted to get a spot in the parking garage. The event was going from 2pm - 6pm. The Glazer Children's Museum with Target also offers $2.00 admission to the museum that day so I thought again it would be packed but the park wasn't. The museum had a line out the door but we got annual passes the first time we were there so we weren't going for that. So back to the event, the kids got to practice how to play golf a little. They had some yummy applesauce from Go Go Squeeze, they love those! Humana was out there with cold water, which was definitely needed since it was a nice hot day out there. They also gave out jump ropes and balls for the kids to play with. Tampa Bay Moms Blog was out there and had tiles for the kids to color. The best part was Airheads  had some employees out there to play kickball. That was a favorite for the babies. They could have stayed out there all day running around. On the way out we let the kids run through the misters and the girls ran into cheerleaders and they got to learn some cheers. We will definitely be making it out there for more of the events. They do run through August and they are on the 1st Tuesday so if anyone wants to join us please feel free!!!

I wish I would have taken my actual camera with to get better pics...I'll know for next time.
