Lithia Springs Park

Off to Lithia Springs for the day
Garrett had his 5th birthday on May 2nd. Unfortunately for my kids I am not much of a party thrower (AT ALL!) so I usually have the kids pick where they want to go or what they want to do and of course they get presents and we did cake that the other kids made for him on his actual birthday. Anyways he wanted to go to"Lithia Springs where the fishes are" for his birthday. So that's where we went! :) We picked strawberries earlier on in the (mid) morning. After the berries adventure we drove over to Lithia Springs. It is about 45 minutes from home but only about 10-15 minutes away from the farm we were on.
Garrett loves the water! |
Garrett is 5!! |
We have only been there 1 other time and the first time we were there it was nice and empty. There was maybe 4 or 5 other families there so it was nice and peaceful. They weren't too busy this time but definitely more so than the first. There is a rope to divide the water into a deeper area. I usually keep the babies on the shallower water. I love that the water doesn't go past like their waist in most parts and they can swim around and play without having to worry about them going under. The deeper side is not really that deep either for the most part but it does go up to the neck on the older kids so the babies can only go over there if someone is with them. Garrett can swim and is good under the water but I don't like him wandering off on his own too much yet. The spring is always stocked with little fish ranging from about 1/4" to about 2" and the kids like to watch them underwater. They try to catch them but the fish are kinda quick. The water is pretty clear for the most part. The only thing that is not very convenient is that you aren't allowed to eat or drink in the water area. You can throughout the actual park but not near the water. There are campgrounds available and a playground not too far from the water. There is a bathroom within walking distance also. This time we were there on the weekend and there were lifeguards on duty. The first time was during the week and no lifeguards were there. We spent a little over 2 hours there this time. The water was a bit colder than we had expected but nothing too bad. The kids love it and we will definitely be going back soon.

That looks better than any party! I want to be there too.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! The love it there because they can all wander around and not worry about waves and it being too deep. We ended up stopping at Chuck E Cheese on the way home too to finish off the birthday fun.
