Drops of Awesome #DropsOfAwesome

Drops of Awesome.....those words in itself caught my attention. I am not sure where I saw it first, somewhere in the online world, but I was interested in finding out more of whatever it was. So on my quest I went and I found that it was originally a journal and the team behind it that wanted to get some Ambassadors of Awesome! SIGN ME UP!
I contacted them and got a response back, along with a copy of the journal...AWESOME!
Do you ever think something is thrown your way at just the right time? When you are questioning your logic? Your sanity? Or maybe when you are questioning your role in life? Your family? If you are a mom, maybe you are questioning your parenting skills? Or how you could do things better? Well I came across Drops of Awesome at probably a good time. I have this odd relationship with the man upstairs. I ask or pray for things and they happen and then just like that something on the other side of the spectrum comes along. It makes me wonder what is going on sometimes. Afraid to ask about what I want because I don't want the negative involved.

From the blog and the book:
"Just at that moment, the thought came into my mind, That’s awesome that you’re walking him to the bus stop and putting on this “mother of the year” act today. What about yesterday and the day before that? You hardly ever walk him to the bus. He’s probably holding your hand because he’s so desperate for the love and attention you haven’t been showing him.
My bubble had burst. I am a crap mom, I thought, as I looked down into his smiling face.
Then another thought came. Kathryn. What is wrong with you? You are being an awesome mom in this moment. Your child is happy. You are loving him and caring for him. He’s well fed and dressed. You’re walking to the bus stop in the early morning and you’re already wearing a bra for heck’s sake. Do not rob yourself of this moment’s joy because of what you failed to do yesterday or what you fear you might not do tomorrow."
Maybe I need to step back and really focus on the good for it to happen and continue to happen. Maybe I need to recognize how nice things are, and can be, and not let the worry in so much. There are a few in my life that I have to deal with that just have negative attitudes about anything and everything and honestly it is very trying sometimes. Unfortunately I have to deal with them, I have chosen to deal with them. I can not let them get to me though. I can not let words or actions from others, no matter how close or how far, leave the yuck in my life. I have children and I want them to be happy all the time. I want them to be raised happy and know how to deal with situations and not let that throw them off their path.

I am sharing Drops of Awesome with you all and my thoughts about it in hopes that you and yours can benefit from it. Maybe you know someone who could use a few Drops of Awesome, please feel free to share. Something so simple can do so much! How many times have you questioned yourself while you were doing something good? How many times have you asked yourself "what am I doing?" You can pre-order the book on Amazon and highly recommend it. I got this book in the form of a pdf but I did print it out.....all 212 pages. I am also a sucker for journals. I have TONS, probably floating around here from way back to my middle school days. I always start them and then they get sidetracked or find a new one but so far I have managed to stick with this. There are prompts throughout the book. There are different stories from the author throughout the book. There are different pages with inspiration. And then there are blank pages....pages for your Drops of Awesome!
From Drops of Awesome post
"In the end, it’s really about allowing yourself to feel joy and allowing yourself to be proud of the small victories of life. This builds momentum and you want more drops in your bucket and when you don’t get as many, you pick yourself up and say, “What can I do next?”

From the book:
"...years later, as a grown woman with children of my own, I made a new friend much like Lola, only far more destructive.
This friend hated to see me succeed. When I laughed, she told me I didn't deserve to be so happy. When I cried, she told me I had earned every ounce of heartache I carried. When I served someone, she told me my offering was inadequate. When I screwed up and fell flat on my face, she told me she'd seen my failure coming for a thousand miles.

The worst part is that I kept this friend with me all the time, agreeing with her harping criticism, and even offering further evidence to support her claims.
This friend was me -- my own inner dialogue."

What things have you done lately that are awesome? What little things can you say are filling your bucket? Share them here and get others to share to. #dropsofawesome
