INVINCIBLE by Brian F. Martin #review

I received excerpts from the book Invincible, by Brian F Martin, for a review, thanks to Smiley360.

"In the United States alone, more than 10 million children are living with domestic violence." Those statistics are insane to me. I did not grow up in a domestic violence house and I do not know anyone close to me, or anyone that I was aware of that did either. I could not imagine living that way, not when I was younger and not even now. I also could not even begin to imagine my children growing up in a situation that involves domestic violence of anykind.
I do however, know of children and families that deal with domestic violence currently. Some situations are not as harsh as others. Some are physical, some emotional, and some mental. Some I see from the outside and those on the inside just don't see it. I sometimes wonder how people allow things to continue, but honestly I can say that I can understand it. Adults rely on each other, they get comfortable with each other, and the one being abused is too dependent on the other parties involved. I can see that because I am very dependent on my husband, he works and I am a stay at home mom. So I understand that aspect. And unfortunately too many others are stuck and don't know what to do.

I am glad I got a chance to read some of this book and I can not wait to read the whole thing. Even if you are not directly or indirectly affected by domestic violence I think you should take the time to read this book, to find ways to get involved, to recognize the possible signs of domestic violence, to learn more about ways you can help

UNICEF calls it “one of the most pervasive human rights issues of our time.” It impacts more than 275 million children and 725 million adults alive today. Yet there is less than 10% awareness.

From the book:
As a child of domestic violence, you have inner reserves of strength far beyond the ordinary, and the ability to channel all that you have been through and felt into a life of extraordinary fulfillment and success. These truths are already inside of you, but you weren’t born with them, you earned them by living through what you lived through and coming out of it to be here today.
