Holiday Wishes by Idina Menzel #o2o

This is probably going to turn into 2 reviews, one from the kids and one from myself.

Seriously, if you have Frozen fans in your life then this is a perfect addition to a great music collection. I love that Idina went from a well loved, very well known song, to a Christmas album. It gives me a great opportunity to share that with my kids and they know her from Let It Go.  When I got the album I started listening to it. Mid afternoon, my kids are homeschooled so they were home...coloring, cleaning, crafting, whatever. They were all singing. As Do You Hear What I Hear came on, my oldest (13) was playing XBox and he said Oh I know that song and actually sang along. All the rest of the kids would sing the songs they knew and I could hear them throughout the house. I love that they actually were involved so much with the music in their everyday activities. I also love that she added in another well known song, When You Wish Upon A Star. I can keep this song going all year and the girls can sing over and over!

As far as my take on the album. I love it. I will be playing this throughout the season and for many more years. It has a classic sound and the songs she chose really are the best, they are mostly well known, which doesn't always happen on albums. Most of the time there are 2 or 3, 4 if you are lucky, even on a Christmas album, that you like and the rest you just skip on through.  I really liked Baby, Its Cold Outside which is a duet with Michael Bublé . It really sounds like they worked well together and are truly having a good time. The song is such a fun song. I saw the video recently and it is adorable....seriously, go check it outHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is one of those songs that I hear and instantly think of friends and family I have lost. There are some versions of the song that I love and others, not so much. There are certain parts in the song that I hear sung a certain way, in the versions I love, and I will admit I love the version on this album! The song in general is probably my favorite holiday song.

I would have to say that Holiday Wishes is a great holiday album. The whole thing is full of great lyrics and the voice does so much for even the simplest songs.
Let me know if you have the album already? Or have heard it?
