10 Talk Like a Pirate Day Activities

ARRRRRRRG, it is Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Design a Treasure Map. This printable blank map from MPM School Supplies is a great way to get kids up and active. You can also grab a pre designed map from lil Luna. Leave a map out overnight and let them wake up to a real Pirate Adventure!  Hide a small treasure at each location and let them find their way to the big prize. I think this year we are going to use Chuck E Cheese tokens for the little treasures.
Every Pirate needs an eye-patch. These are from Family Shopping Bag, they are free and fun! Super easy to cut and wear with a little bit of string or yarn. I prefer the black and white ones because Emmaleigh loves everything with pink and purple so she can add a little color to hers.

If you homeschool, and even if you dont, the Homeschool Mom has put together a whole Unit Study for Pirates. It is full of information on the history or pirates and flags, as well as pirate dress codes and ships they sailed on. It is an amazing amount of information for your kiddos.
