Family Roadtrip {St Pete to Gatlinburg}

We have been somewhat planning this roadtrip to Tennessee for about 3-4 months now. I personally am usually horrible when it comes to making definite plans and sticking with them so planning an actual family vacation has been more stressful than it should have been. I am more of a lets go, we can find a place up there type of traveler but with 4 kids coming along I kinda have to plan out things. Anyways the main reason for this roadtrip to Gatlinburg, other than just to go, is to go to all of the Ripley's Attractions. So I found us a place and booked. We started packing a little here and there and left the smaller things we would need for the night before. I suggested we leave early, so we left about 5am, so the kids slept most of the trip out of Florida. They have already been through the state so they wouldn't really be missing too much. And by the time we were out of Florida they would be ready to stop and eat.
When the kids woke up we were just inside of Georgia and it was a little bit chilly. I left the kids in their jammas when we left so we stopped to change into warmer clothes. There were a few cotton fields while driving through Georgia but we didn't stop this trip. We will definitely be adding that to our list of things to see and do. Our second stop on the trip was High Falls State Park. I wanted to let the kids run around for a bit, what better place!

And then it was time to get back on the road. Through Downtown Atlanta. Wasn't too much traffic considering. I remember when I was little, my mom and grandpa used to drive up to Kentucky and Illinois every summer and the traffic through Atlanta was insane! We drove through the year the Olympics was there and it was crazy!

Finally! Mountains and chilly clouds! We made it to North Georgia.

And we made it!!
Please come back tomorrow and see what we are up to in Gatlinburg!

  4. Fam outing is one of the best things kids do prepare for. But being a "discoverer" traveler is such a unique one for me. Haha Got to see what's next in your trip! and RIpley's Attraction!
