Kids to Parks Day 2016 promises to be bigger than ever! National Park Trust is celebrating the Centennial of the National Park Service and the launch of President Obama’s “Every Kid in a Park” initiative, which gives all U.S. 4th graders and their families a pass to enjoy all national parks and federal lands free this year. Last year, Kids to Parks Day had more than 640,000 participants in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. This year, the goal is to have more than 750,000 people enjoy Kids to Parks Day.

Stop over and download your Adventure Book, here. This booklet contains fun outdoor activities to complete at any local, state, or national park. Don't forget to take something to write with and a hard surface, like a clipboard. Like Buddy Bison says, “Explore outdoors, the parks are yours!” So get out and enjoy the outdoor spaces with Buddy Bison.
National Park Trust’s Kids to Parks Day is proud to be endorsed by numerous national partners in outdoor recreation, education and health; governors and mayors from all 50 states and Washington, D.C.; and supports not only the President’s new Every Kid in a Park program, but also First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let Move! Initiative.

Kids to Parks Day offers many benefits to children and families. Cities across the nation are encouraging their residents to use Kids to Parks Day as the first of many days spent outdoors, at local parks and recreation sites, to develop more active, healthy lifestyles. Kids to Parks Day brings families together to create lifelong memories, educational opportunities, and the many psychological and social benefits of outdoor play in a park.

Parents, caregivers, friends and others are encouraged to register to be counted for Kids to Parks Day here: Register

About National Park Trust

National Park Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving parks today and creating park stewards for tomorrow. As people spend more time indoors, and as successive generations grow up with less of a connection to nature, NPT wants to build a greater awareness and appreciation for the importance of our country's public lands and parks. NPT’s Buddy Bison® School Program and Kids to Parks Day National School Contest were selected in 2015 as a National Park Service Centennial Project. Learn more at: www.parktrust.org
