Can You Still Enjoy Disney // Mass Shooting Aftermath

We do not live in Orlando but we are there often. As Disney passholders and frequent roadtrippers, we love to take the hour(ish) drive out there. I have had family, friends, and even some strangers ask if we are still going to go out there on a regular. I am in a Disney group on Facebook and some were concerned for their safety, others were asking how they were supposed to enjoy going to Disney with the massive loss surrounding the area.
I posted this yesterday on a few that were asking and I think it is worth sharing...

If nothing else, the events in Orlando should be a reminder to enjoy every second as it comes because obviously no one knows when you wont have that option anymore.

  1. If people are going to Disney then they really should stay in the pool areas where it is the safest. There is no reason they should not go at all.

  2. I remember after 9/11, people debated if it was safe to go to sporting events. My opinion remains the same. We never know what tomorrow brings. We could die when we go out to get the mail. We should carry on leading our life.

  3. It's heartbreaking what happened, isn't it? I just can't even imagine the sorrow and grief the family is experiencing now. I don't think people need to stop going to Disney though.

  4. This has been such a heartbreaking week for Orlando! I would still visit the parks, I can understand people's concern but you can't let fear rule your life.

  5. What happened just breaks my heart. I hate that people can't feel safe in such a magical place.

  6. I don't think people should stop going to Disneyland. As long as reasonable precautions are observed, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

  7. I had this conversation with my kids, and it is sobering to think that we can no longer go to public spaces without feeling a little bit of anxiety. I think more security checks must be put in place at public events. Better safe than sorry!

  8. You don't have to tell me twice. I've been dreaming of taking my family to Disney for years. I'm trying to learn all the ways to make it more cost effective and fun at the same time.

  9. Not only the shooting but that little boy being snatched by the gator has made me wary. But we can't stop living.
