What We Are Doing To Celebrate Dr Suess Today
I am sure most of you already know that today is Dr Suess's birthday, if not, now you do. We are kinda taking a lighter approach to the day. Nothing too crazy or too messy, like previous years.
Here is what we have planned for the day.
Last night the kids picked out a few of their favorite books to read throughout the day.
We are starting the afternoon off with Cat In The Hat Kabobs. Just alternate banana and strawberry slices and enjoy! Lunch there will be a Red Fish, Blue Fish twist to tuna sandwiches and dessert is going to be a Cat In The Hat Parfait made simply by alternating red Jello with Cool Whip.
Emmaleigh loves coloring pages, I have the empty ink cartridges to prove, so I printed out these Dr Suess quotes coloring pages.
Todays simple craft is the Truffula Trees from Masshole Mommy.
And finally, the creative writing prompt is going to be The Day Cat In The Hat Came To Our House.

Thanks for featuring my Truffula Trees :) We are making green eggs and ham for brinner tonight :)
ReplyDeleteSo many cute Ideas. I have been browsing around Dr. Seuss themed ideas for my son'd first birthday party in September.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute ideas! My daughter's class is celebrating as well. I bet they would love to make some of these!
ReplyDeleteOoo I love those Cat in the Hat sticks! It's actually my son's birthday too so we're busy celebrating that. But we do love Dr. Suess!

ReplyDeleteAwesome Ideas. I love Dr.Seuss!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Dr. Seuss! Your books are a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWe hadn't been to the library for almost a year. We just never remembered, as our library is only open a few hours 3 days a week. I just happened to remember today and took the kids up. We picked out several DrSeuss books. Then found out it's Read Across America Day with DrSeuss. Of all the days, this is the day we went. It was perfect.
ReplyDeleteI kept to my word, and in honor of The Grinch being green and all, I celebrated by making homemade Shamrock shakes... Okay, it was just a coincidence that it was Dr.Seuss birthday. Richard B.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome. I had no idea it was his birthday. It's nice what you did. The kids must be very happy.
ReplyDeleteI was first introduced to Dr. Seuss in elementary school. We went to see the movie at the local cinema during a field trip!
ReplyDeleteI remember Dr Seuss day in my childrens school each year we all would celebrate by dressing up and doing a lot of reading. Wonderful memories. I am so glad to hear they still celebrate
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas! My daughters are just getting to know Dr. Seuss, they're 5! I love how creative you are with these! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable! I love Dr. Seuss and I've had books and more when I was growing up. These are all so great!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading his books. They are truly unique. When I was a kid, my favorite book was 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. I would suggest to my nephews to read Dr. Seuss.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteI did not know but will use today...late...to share some with my granddaughter who is visiting for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow! You are a super dedicated Mom. I hope your kids know how lucky they are :)
ReplyDeleteSuch great ways to celebrate! So many cute ideas!
